Anti-wrinkle treatment uses a prescription-only injectable (botulinum toxin, widely known as Botox®) to soften the lines created by everyday facial expression — frown lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines and crow's feet at the outer eyes. How it works Tiny amounts are placed into the small muscles responsible for those movements. Relaxing the muscle gently reduces the repeated creasing of the skin above it, so lines look softer and the skin has a chance to settle. The aim is a refreshed, natural look — not a frozen one. Your dose and placement are tailored to your face and the strength of your movement. On the day Treatment takes only a few minutes using a very fine needle. Most people describe it as a quick scratch. There is minimal downtime; you can usually return to your day straight away, avoiding strenuous exercise, facials and lying flat for the rest of the day. Results Movement begins to soften from around day 3, with the full effect at about two weeks. Results typically last 3–4 months, after which movement gradually returns and treatment can be repeated. Suitability This is a prescription medicine, so it must be prescribed for you personally after a face-to-face consultation. It isn't suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain neuromuscular conditions. Possible temporary effects include small bruises, mild headache or tenderness at the injection points.
